HelloHotspot

Privacy Policy

Effective 18 October 2026

HelloHotspot is an independent app for buying and managing silent.link eSIMs using a built-in Cashu wallet. This policy describes the HelloHotspot app and gethellohotspot.com. HelloHotspot does not require an account, email address or phone number.

Data on your device

The app keeps eSIM labels, order credentials, activation information, balances, payment records and preferences on your device. Order credentials and the wallet recovery phrase use the operating system’s protected storage. Wallet proofs and transaction state use the app’s local database. Your recovery phrase is not sent to HelloHotspot’s website or to silent.link.

Services contacted by the app

The app connects directly to silent.link and its payment processor to get prices, create purchases and top-ups, check invoices, and retrieve your eSIM details and balances. These requests include the amounts, invoice identifiers and eSIM identifiers or order credentials needed for that request. Purchases and top-ups include HelloHotspot’s referral code; silent.link may pay the developer a share of eligible purchases.

The Cashu wallet contacts its mint to create deposits, redeem tokens, check wallet proofs and pay Lightning invoices. The mint receives the payment information and cryptographic proofs needed to process those operations. The default mint is Minibits; importing a Cashu token can also connect to the mint named in that token. Payment processing is subject to each provider’s own practices.

Services you connect to can receive your IP address and ordinary network request information. silent.link and mobile network operators also process information needed to supply mobile connectivity, independently of this app. See silent.link and Minibits for their service information.

When you choose to install an eSIM, the app passes its activation details to the platform’s eSIM setup flow using an Apple or Android setup link. Your operating system, eSIM provider and mobile network process the information needed to activate and supply that service.

Approximate location

If you give permission, HelloHotspot uses approximate foreground location to identify your country and show local data rates. It uses the operating system’s geocoding service, which may contact its service provider. HelloHotspot’s website does not receive these coordinates. You can deny or revoke location permission and choose a country manually. The app can fall back to your device’s region setting.

Advertising and analytics

HelloHotspot includes no advertising SDK or app analytics service. It does not sell your personal data or use an advertising identifier.

The website and downloads

The website is hosted on Railway. Visiting it sends ordinary web request information, including your IP address, to the hosting infrastructure. Android downloads are served through GitHub and its storage providers, or through Zapstore when you use that catalog. These providers handle their own service logs. The website does not ask for your wallet recovery phrase or eSIM order credentials.

Retention and deletion

The app retains local records so it can restore your view and resume pending payments. Removing an eSIM from the app removes its local eSIM record; it does not close the eSIM at silent.link or erase payment-provider records. Operating-system protected storage can persist independently of an app installation, especially on iOS. Deleting local wallet data without a recovery backup can make funds inaccessible.

HelloHotspot does not operate an account database or a server holding your wallet or eSIM credentials, and cannot recover or erase those local credentials remotely. For records held by silent.link, a mint, a mobile network, GitHub or Railway, contact that provider about its retention and deletion practices. For questions about local data removal or a privacy request concerning HelloHotspot, use the contact below.
